This is the sixth recognition for the series, including the Loeb Award and another nomination, a SABEW Award, a Deadline Club Award finalist and an honorable mention in the Barlett & Steele Award competition. Previous years’ Stokes winners have included Bloomberg Markets, ProPublica and the Center for Public Integrity.
The “Inside Chesapeake Energy” series, written by Brian Grow, Anna Driver, Joshua Schneyer, Janet Roberts, Jeanine Prezioso, David Sheppard, John Shiffman and Carrick Mollenkamp and edited by Blake Morrison and Michael Williams, is a series of in-depth reports and news scoops on Chesapeake Energy Corp and its founder Aubrey McClendon. Our Manila Operational Center received the Philippine Quality Award (PQA) Recognition for Commitment to Quality Management from the President of the Republic of the Philippines Benigno S. Aquino III, in formal ceremonies held at Malacanang Palace on December 12. Senior Site Officer and Head of Human Resources Peter Buenaseda and Quality Manager Ray Yulo received a sculpted glass trophy on behalf of the Thomson Reuters Manila delegation, composed of Manila senior managers and the PQA Steering Committee.
President Aquino lauded Thomson Reuters in his speech and said: “This is a company that has instilled what the awarding body calls an ‘improvement culture’ in their organization. Truly, this is something any office—and any government—should aspire for and especially since we don’t have any government agency awardee this year. This is especially notable since this company works directly with foreign offices, and is living proof that the Filipino worker can compete on a global scale.” (more…)
