On January 24, 2013, the Integrated Justice Information Sharing (IJIS) third annual Badge & Tech Benefit Dinner was held in Arlington, Virginia.  The benefit raised proceeds to support law enforcement professionals whose homes were severely damaged or destroyed during October 2012’s hurricane Sandy.  Proceeds from the benefit will be given to the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Foundation for immediate assistance to those officers and their families who were hardest hit by the storm.

The event’s keynote speaker was Colonel Rick Fuentes, Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police.  Fuentes gave a presentation regarding the State Police’s response to Hurricane Sandy.  Other attendees included former Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner, Frank Pawlowski and Thomson Reuters Sr. Director of Investigative Resources, Daniel DeSimone.
